Recovering the wings

Hey all:

I have an old stick that hasnt been flowen in 25 years, I got back into flying and smashed it up a little, I ordered ultra coat and when removing the old MONACOAT. I noticed it has stuck Quite well to certain areas, Iused the heat gun and tweasers, But this method is kind of time comusing....

Is there any other way to remove monacoat ?

Thnaks...

the reason it hasn't flowen in a while is becasue Igot outta it, then got back into it.

RE: Recovering the wings

I've had some luck with using a multi tool from Harbor Freight and the smaller of the two sanding foots and the finest of paper available for it. I didn't remove all of the coloring on the wood but reduced it to about 30-40 percent, which then wasn't very noticeable through the new covering.
