Cularis Rudder Fell Off!!!
 

To day after 40min of flying my rudder broke away from the tail fin. (always doubted the way the moving surfaces are hinged). Two seconds later the entire fin broke away!!!! ,so down she came. Definately repairable, but i think it was pure luck that she came in level otherwise it would of been a total loss. Thinking of replacing the hinges on the whole plane now. Has anybody else had the same problem.

Yeah! My friend was flying around this morning with the strangest looking rudder I have ever seen. After landing we discovered he was towing one half of his elevator behind the rudder! All three hinges broke off and he was pulling it with the control rod!:D

most of the time with arf,s is the lack of glue used , in this case i would be pinning all hinges ie; 4 pins to each hinge.

Same thing happened to me yesterday with the elevator hinges, you can see the pics here : http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_86...tm.htm#8640875 , have flown it a couple of times without problems, looks like the hinges just pulled out. Pretty nasty landing, but i'll try to rebuild it.

I have lost my Rudder too. I have a roll gyro on my cularis and flew for some time till my friend pick up the rudder the was on the ground in front of me. he tolld me "i think you need this on your plane". He laugh hard, saying something about the look on my face before he cought up his left lung. The Gyro kept her tamed, just a little muddy on the turns.
