Wallpaper thread
Did a quick search in this forum, surprisingly didn't find a "wallpaper thread". Soooooo....
Here's a wallpaper thread.
A place where those of us who wish to do so can share aviation-related wallpapers we've created. Since the photos will be easily copied/downloaded (which is their purpose) I suggest that the photos used be either our own, or that we have written permisison to use them for this purpose.
Posts should include information regarding the date/event/location of the photo, as well as the dimensions of the wallpaper.
If you're willing to take requests for custom sizes of some of your work, please indicate that when posting the wallpaper.
Finally, wallpapers should be posted as attachments, so the thread doesn't take a bazillion hours to load.
EDIT: Just realized attached image got resized, reduced by quite a bit first time I uploaded.
The "trick" to keep them full sized is to use the "Multi-file Upload" rather than "Upload images and files" Apparently the latter automatically resizes, while the former allows the viewer to expand the image to its original size for saving as a wallpaper.

RE: Wallpaper thread
My first contribution:
6/5/2010, Pre-race act on Quali day at the 2010 Windsir RBAR.
Wallpaper is 3360x1050 dual screen, and places one bird on each screen when tiled.

RE: Wallpaper thread
Mike,
I appreciate the work, and the sentiment involved...however in MY case, I have a strong preference that folks NOT post their own modifications of my work. I am usually happy to meet requests for a wallpaper in a different format/resolution if possible.
In this case, I chose the specific shot I did precisely BECAUSE it was suitable for dual widescreen wallpapers. I would be more than happy to crop it differently, or provide a wallpaper of the same aircraft/event from a different shot. But I strongly prefer that the image remain framed as I shot it.
Hope I'm not being too much of a jerk by asking you to remove those images in your post.

RE: Wallpaper thread
Thanks, Mike.
I hope my point there is understandable. I really did do a fair amount of framing work, waiting, and positioning when TAKING the shot quite specifically with the particular needs of dual widescreen displays in mind.
I do also have numerous other shots of those airplanes in similar position that I'll create some single screen wallpapers out of, if anybody so desires.

Here's the image I'm currently using...
JN4 powered by a O.S. .91 4-stroke, scratch built (from plans) about 30 years ago. It's still flying... I took this picture last month.

RE: Wallpaper thread
I like to get wallpaper from www.eaa.org. Each month there is a new one with the added advantage of having the current calender in the upper right hand corner. They also offer them in different resolutions to suit your computer.

RE: Wallpaper thread
I tried to post a few images but the multi_image uploader locks up each time I try to launch it and the upload files reduces the image size. Ok lets try this one more time using Internet Explorer
