Default Futaba 9CAP radio - Draganflyer

I'm thinking of getting a Draganflyer V Ti but I already own a Futaba 9CAP (channel 34) radio.

Can I use my current computerized radio with the draganflyer? would it be cheaper? i can't find any info on their site.

thanks!

Yes you can use any computerized radio as long as it is Futaba or Hitec compatible. I used to fly my DF with a 9C (Mine had the synthesized module) and works perfectly.

I forgot to tell you about the price. Yes it would be cheaper to buy the DF without TX. That’s the way I bought mine.

You don’t have to buy their radio. You just have to buy either the synthesized module for your radio or another TX module with the channel you chose when ordering (When ordering just ask the what channels they have available and choose)

Don’t worry, just order either a synthesized module for the 9C or a xtal module on channel 37 (either one available at most rc shops). The advantage of having the sensitized module is that it eliminates selecting and installing transmitter crystals so you won’t ever have the problem you’re having right now.
Remember, the DF is not xtal changeable.

Not "user" changeable. When I got my DF-V upgrade from Spectrolutions, I asked about frequencies. Mike said I could get any of the standard freqs, or if I wanted something different, I could send him the crystal, and they'd install and tune it. Now if we could just get 2.4 Ghz

The above is picking nits, and the synth module for the Futaba is the best long term solution, since you can use any 72 Mhz freq at will.

Cheers,
Rusty

You can send your DF board, along with a Futaba crystal to Spectrolutions and they will replace the built-in crystal with a socket for your Futaba crystal and re-tune your receiver. The turn-around time is about a week and it's well worth it.
