I saw this video on Mythbusters and said it's about time! They showed what happens when a large car, a school bus and a small plane pass behind a large jet with it's engines at full throttle. [X(]

Winter project... Check out these bad boys (Vario Benzin gassers) - just picked them up this afternoon, plus tons of spare parts. That's a little T-Rex 600 in the middle. The Varios haven't flown for about 3 years and I'm going to rebuild them with 2.4GHz FASST Tx/Rx. IR stabilization, etc. They'll lift 18 lbs each. One of them only has 1/2 hour flight time. I'm going to refurbish the older one first and fly it for awhile, and I've already got it sold - to another recovering ex-DF flyer from this forum! Then I'll take what I've learned and fix up the other one to use myself. We're working on some river rescue techniques for dropping a life preserver on a rope out to the middle of a raging stream.

Carry On,
Bruce

Here's how "The Beast" is coming along. Take-off weight is going to be around 18-20lbs. The last picture shows a comparison between a 600mm T-Rex main blade and the 820mm Vario blade. The tuned exhaust was custom built for the heli.

Cheers!
Bruce

Coooool! Is that the gas tank next to the exhaust???[X(] Upgraded gyros and electronics and auto stabiliztion such as an FMA would be a plus for you here too.
Cheers,
Jim

This looks promising but is kind of noisy.
