Electronics help
this may sound silly but as electronics is not my field i am just wondering would the DF still work minus the motor Capacitors! What is thier purpose? thanks!

RE: Electronics help
They filter out the RF noise created by the motors. Without them you risk a serious crash caused by the interference. I would not fly the DF with even the smallest crack! They are too cheap to risk a crash by not using them.

RE: Electronics help
thank you. i knew it had something to do with noise but never realised it could caurse interference. im not flying it anyway. the capacitor has completely snaped in half. Woops! :(

am thinking of convertingto brushless but i am researching it first to see if i can afford it and if i can get the parts cheaper. i am following the conversions posted on this forum and really excited about seeing some new vids.
thanks again.

RE: Electronics help
i have done some research on capacitors and found the following info on the ones used on the DF:

100nF Ceramic Disc Capacitor

* For general purpose applications.
* 25Vdc max working voltage.
* 5mm lead pitch.
* High dielectric constant ceramic.
* -20% +80% standard tolerance.
* -25 deg +80 deg temperature rating.

RE: Electronics help
As long as the caps are 0.01uF and greater than 12VDC (which is the maximum service voltage), your good to go.

RE: Electronics help
sorry yeah i ment

10nF Ceramic Disc Capacitor

100nF Ceramic Disc Capacitor

i have found the ones i needed and have replaced all the caps for new ones. flys fine now.

thank you.
