tri...sorry guys I just like them
I am building my first tri and I want the end result to be able to monitor battery, have altitude hold, self leveling, and return home. I also want the controller to work in a wing. What controller, gyro and software system do you recommend?

I used to build tricopter too, i usually go for APM MINI PRO (ARDUCOPTER) + GPS flight controller board because it has lot of automation but if you want compact, simple and budget the iNAV supported board from SP RACING F3/F4 or OMNIBUS F4 + GPS controller does the job too. Both flight controller works on fixed wing.
Here are some of my old and new video using Ardupilot and also iNAV both on multirotor and winged.
*No tricopter videos because it was half way flown its lifespan.
