Default BSE 90L FISE

Hi Bob,

I just scored another used Jett. This time it's a BSE 90L, side exhaust. Has the Jett tuned muffler.

What can you tell me about this engine?

It appears to be a regular BSE-90L engine.

From the photo - it has a great deal of corrosion on the case and muffler. Even the brass on the carb looks messy. Pull the back plate and check it on the inside too before doing anything else with it. Looks to be missing one backplate screw too.

Running wise.....

Just your basic sport engine. Nothing complicated.

11x7, 11x8, 12x6 prop (12x6 is the baseline prop). Looking for 14K peak ground rpm or better.

Thanks!

Corrosion is not a problem, it's going to get polished.

of course [&:]

I was mainly concerned with the bearings and crankshaft. Those can be taken care of too.

No, but the guy just refunded my money. It turned out to be a rather strange transaction. Seller claimed it was sent USPS, insured. But I never got a tracking number. I'm disappointed I didn't get the engine.

Yes, I know I am lucky about that. I was looking forward to a fully polished BSE though. [&o]

Nothing like some functional jewelery for the front of your airplane, eh? That would be awesome, a polished BSE
