Default JETT .46 and FAI Fuel?

I've been floating the idea of mixing my own fuel and going the 0% Nitro route. My current setup is a Sport Jett .46 running with 15% Powermaster fuel. Ground RPM with a 10x6 APC is 16K. Plug is a K&B 1L. If I do change the fuel to 0% what changes should I make to the engine? Do I drop to a 9x7 and try to keep the RPM's around 16K. Also should I remove the two aluminum shims that are already installed on the engine?

Thoughts?

Hey there... thanks for writing......

Yep, you are on the right track. Folks in europe and Australia run the engine on FAI fuel often enough. No issues.

Keep the rpm about where it is now by backing off on the prop. 10x5, 9x7 are good choices.

Run it first with the shims as-is.

If it runs ok and idle/transition are good - leave it alone for a while.

After you run it a bit - then perhaps pull a head gasket... so you have something to compair against.

Let me know how things work out.

I'm interested in doing the same thing with a 90L.

I have four gallons of Blendzall #460 "Green Label" 2-Cycle Racing Castor from an "earlier champaign."

Can I run an all castor lube "Home Brew" fuel in a Jett?

You can run all castor oil fuel it will just get a bit messy

You would probably be better off using a 50/50 split of syth and castor.
