56LX breakin clarification

running the 56LX this weekend, and want to get this right.
the instructions from Dub say to use a 9x7 and run it up to RPM and stay away from the peak. start rich and lean it in until you get to 16,000 and let it run a few minutes, then come up 500 rpm more and let it run there for 5 minutes more. do not peak until you have 10 minutes on it and then only for a second or two.

ok i understand not letting it peak right away, and we want to get into the normal running RPM's but being slighty rich at the same time while on the breakin bench.

the advice you gave me when running in my BSE 50 was to use a 9x6 and get it up to 17,000 while it too was slightly rich, and following that advice it is now a screamer.

i have seen advice to use a 9x6 on the 60LX.......but i would appreciate the exact plan to properly run this animal in.

the 56 is going into a Sundowner 50 and will be running from a 12oz Bubble Jett tank.

RE: 56LX breakin clarification

WHAT A RIPOFF!...............this engine is not what i expected at all.
first i decided to go with all the search info here and use the 9x6 and set rich at 17-7-18,000rpm. the stupid thing started on the first flip,:D ran nice and fast for several 5 minute runs till i got 35-40 minutes on it.........then i switched to a 9x7 APC and the stupid thing wanted to take off while attached to a 100lb test stand :D........was hard to read the tach as the sky was cloudy, but i did get a brief reading of 18,600 rpm's and it wasn't even fully peaked.............i think i'm going to have to request a full refund for the engine and for wasting my time

how's that for a user review? :D:D:D

(PS Bob........you can tell how happy i am right?)

Edit;

Aw man,, you changed that cool post. Now my reply doesn't make any sense. :(

I hope you didn't change it on my account. I thought it was hilarious.

Blessings, Terry

Congrats on a successful breakin.
