Default charge rate

Hi,

I have a turngiy nano-tech 2.2mAh 4c 25 - 50 discharge high discharge lipo battery

it says on it max charge 5c

what does this mean with regards to charging it

Your may mean 2.2 ah (rather than mah) and you might also mean 4S? (rather than 4c)
 Anyways , 5C means charging at 5 times the "C" or 5 times the capacity. If your capacity is 2.2 ah then that means 2.2 x 5 = 11 amps.

I always thought the correct rate to charge a lipo or any battery would be : 2500mah charge at 1c 2.5amps, 4000mah charge at 4 amps, am I correct?

Many will agree with you. I always thought the correct rate was any rate up to the max rate. Some go beyond the max rate as well.

Following these charge rates I have never had any problems with any of my batteries and you also have to keep in mind I have over 150 cycles and they look new still (no puffiness) and still have the punch power.
