Default Batteries and set-up

I'm gonna try putting a Rimfire 1.20 electric mtr. with Castle 100 esc. into my Top Flite cessna 182 skylane. Does this set-up sound right and what batteries would work best?

Probably going to be overpowered. Use the fewest number of cells listed for the motor. Minimum 3,000mah. Buy a flexible combination of packs that you can put together in series to achieve the power you want: ex: if the motor calls for 12 cells buy 2 fours and 2 twos. That way if 12 is too much you can yank two cells and go back to ten. Do the same thing if it calls for 10 then you can add two if you need/want more power.

Yes, I know, there will be some electrical losses due to the resistance of added connectors, but you're not going to notice it flying a 182.

Walt, the Cessna is probably going to be 14 to 15 lbs. with the wingspan of 81in.

I fly a Bud Nosen Citabria at 9ft and 17 lbs on a ten cell True R/C motor and it goes vertical as long as I want it to.
