Default Lipo's for new Pigi plane?

Just finished Pigi plane and am wondering what a good Lipo replacement for the 8 cell 1700 MAH Nimh battery that is recommended would be? I believe the PJS1000 motor draws about 20 to 22 amps, so it would have to be a high current 11.1 volt capable pack.

Thanks,

flierbk

I'm not sure just how much you can push those motors so a 2s configuration might be better. The larger Lithium cells will hold their voltage better than a NiCd pack so it will be closer to a 7-8 cell pack.

You might consider two packs in parallel of the 2-cell Kokam 1500HC cells. It can deliver 24amps continuous and has a capacity of 3AH at only 6oz in weight.

Perhaps the 3-cell packs would work fine with throttle management or cutting the tips of the prop down a bit to reduce current draw.
