Default Battery repair Help

I have a battery pack that the positive tab came off of the battery. It was not a solder connection. Was more like a little tiny spot weld. Anyway, I need to know if anyone knows how to repair this connection without killing the cell. Is there anything I need to do to prepare the cell top before soldering. I have an excellent soldering iron and good soldering abilities. It is a AA size NiMH pack. I am guessing I would use high heat and get in and out fast. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

you will need to scuff the surfaces to be soldered, and after that just solder it. I go for the high heat (40w) setting and get in and out fast, but going low and slow works too

Make sure it's an IRON, not a soldering gun. It needs to have a big chisel tip to transfer lots of heat quickly.

Soldering cells is easy with the right prep. I kiss the top of the cells with a Dremel sanding drum, then tin them.

I kiss the top of the cells .....
Thanks Matt,

I did what you said...I kissed the top of my cells. Then I scuffed 'em, fluxed 'em, tinned 'em, and soldered 'em. Got in and out quickly. Now for the next question. I put the pack on the charger for its first charge. I am letting it trickle charge for the first couple of times. With the pack trickle charging I can put the pack to my ear and hear it buzzing. Is this a normal thing? I am kind of new to electrics! Hope the kissing thing worked!
