Default LiPo safety

If I have understood it correctly a Lipo starts to swell some time before it gets so hot that it explodes. I wonder if it would be possible to let a microswitch sense the expansion and just turn off the charger.

Default RE: LiPo safety

While that could work, by the time a pack starts to swell, it is usually already unusable.

The new chargers will use either a temperature sensor and/or a tap from each individual cell to monitor the voltage, balance the cells, and perform sanity checks during the charge process.

Look for the additional monitor jack on the new Kokam packs.
