Default Can new nimh AA 2100ma cells be used?

Hi all
Has anyone tried the newer AA cells nimh 2100 ma or less be used in a speed 400 - 7.2v set up ?
I was planning to try an 8 ( or 7 ) cell pack to power a park flyer that currently uses 6x1000 ma nicad AA cells and would like the longer run time and a little more power.
Any thoughts on the idea !
Rob

i have not tried to run these yet, but others that have say they are not high discharge rate like the KAN cells. they heat up quick and get damaged. these batteries are designed for 350ma discharge. the other side of the coin is that KAN cells are cheaper.

Most AA cells are designed for low current applications like digital cameras and toys. They're packed for maximum capacity, not maximum discharge.

I'll use my clown car analogy: Pack 18 clowns into a VW Beetle, and it takes 'em a while to untangle and get out. Put 'em on a bus, and they can file off quickly and efficiently.

I started flying my Unicorn wing with 2000 mah Engerizer packs I made. I would get decent flights with a Speed 400. I switched to
Hecell 1800 mah 4/5 A and CBP 1800 4/5 A and the difference was spectacular, not only in spped but in flight time. The better higher discharge rate batteries are about $2.50 each, the inferior 2100 Energizer are about $2.75 to $3.00

Try this web site for high discharge batteries, look at the CBP 1800 and recently I built a CBP 2100 A size, it is heavier at 11.4 oz but the perfromance is worth it
