Default What charger is best?

Decided to go ahead and make this its own thread

O.K., I am still very new to the electric stuff. I have been playing with some parkflyer size planes. Recently went over to brushless with the AXI motors, the next step will be to go to LiPo.

I intend to do my first non-parkflyer electric (Sig Kadet Sr. Arf) this winter.

[1] Will the Triton cover my needs with regards to both the park flyers and somthing like the larger electrics which appear to require something in the range of a 5s4p or 6s4p LiPo setup (AXI 4120/18 or maybe a 4130/16)?

[2] Can the larger pack be charged with the Triton, or would I need to buy two packs (etc), charge seperately, then use a "connector board" to get back to my configuration?

[3] Would another charger better suit my needs?

I would like the ability to use AC or DC power, and I would like to be able to charge two flight packs suitable for the kadet size range mentioned above.

Any thoughts?

What charger is best? The one that suits your needs, of course!

1. & 2. No. The Triton will only charge a 4S?P pack, and at a maximum of 2.5 Amps. This means you would have to be able to split your packs up into 4S?P (or smaller) pieces, and charge each piece separately. It's a given that you'll have a capacity over 2500mAh, so each "packlet" will take well over two hours to charge, maybe more. This means several hours between flights

3. The Astro 109 is purpose-built for large LiPoly packs. There are also several of the more expensive German chargers that will do this.

Thanks everyone. I bought the Astro 109 last night. I already have chargers for NiMH/NiCd, so I just needed the LiPO.
