Default AC Lithium Charger Found, Maybe?

I posted a thread recently about finding an AC Lithium Charger. I hadn't been able to find one. But now I've noticed an ad for an AC/DC charger/cycler in the new FLY RC. It's the Hobbico ACCU-CYCLE Elite. The cost is around 150 dollars, which seems reasonable, considering what this charger will do. I'm going to see if I can find out more about it. In the meantime, I wish someone would buy it, use it and then tell us all about it.

I volunteer. Got $150 I can borrow?

What you'll find about the Accucycle Elite is that its charge rate is limited, as is the number of cells it can charge. IIRC, you're talking about 2 or 3 LiPoly cells maximum, at 1 Amp maximum. Not much use for anything other than small park fliers, and completely inconvenient at the flying field.

Thanks Matt. I checked their Website but they didn't give many details about the Charger/Cycler. It would work for me currently, because all my Lipols are currently 2 or 3 cells. Still, it probably isn't what I'm looking for. I will stick with my current method of home charging. I purchased a power supply for about 50 bucks and I just connect that to my Hobbico Mark II Twin Charger, which has worked very well for me so far, at the field and at home. I'll continue to cycle my nicad and nimh packs with my Brain 969. I had intended to charge my lithiums with the Brain but it's to unreliable and dangerous to attempt the capacity charge required by that charger.

Check out the new Leisure Electronics 110D li-poly charger (think thats the model number)
Can charge up to 9 cells at up to 8 amps for around 150.00 and it auto detects cell count.
Think thats what I will go with as my little plantronics will only charge at a max rate of
400mah and is taking forever on my 3500's Think Tower carries them.

Tim Hudson
