Default Brushless motor recommendation

Looking for input on what motor to buy for my 18 oz 3D foamy. Presently have a speed 400 geared on it with 8 KAN 1050's.

I have a 25 amp CC ESC and will run a 3s1p Li-Po setup. I've been looking at the AXI motors but all the advertising just confuses me. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Have you considered the Himax 2025-4200 with a gearbox? I have a similarly sized plane & when I went looking for a motor, this is what I settled on. This also allows the possibility of using different gearing options.

mackey1:

an axi 2212/34 should work well. 11 x 4.7 prop!

I would choose the 2808/24, a 9x4,5 prop leaving the motor eating appr. 20 Amp at max. Then you have enough power! With a 10x5 prop and 25Amp current it still works but it is overkill in your plane...
