Default newbie battery question(s)

I bought a used futaba transmitter with a nicad battery pack & wall charger. I think its about 500 or 800 mAh. The battery is worn out. Can I put in a Nimh, about 2100 mAh and still use the same charger? How long would it have to charge? Does the Nimh pack have to be "broken in" in some way? Thanks.

Default RE: newbie battery question(s)

Pay careful attention to the physical size of the new battery vs the old. No, NIMH batteries do not require charging/discharging to reach peak power. NIMH do not develop cell memory as do the older NICADs. You can get exact replacement batteries at www.towerhobbies.com
