Lipo for Yak 55 EP 3D ARF by great planes?
Hi,
For Christmas I ended up receiving this Great plane Yak 55 park flyer it looks like it will be a ton of fun. Although I am new to 3D and electric flight in general so I have many questions. The recommend batteries for this are 2-3 cell 1500 mah lithium polymer batteries. My Dad got me a 2 cell 1550 mah 7.4V high discharge Tanic battery. All the reviews i have read say that the "stock motor is great!" and there is no need to upgrade to brushless unless one wants more flight time. But all the review articles used a 3 cell 1500 mah 11.1V lipo. So my question in the end is will my 2 cell battery power this 3D acrobat. The moter is an e-flight 280 brushed motor.

thanks,
but is the 2 cell motor going to make the plane capable of pulling out of hovers or good vertical performance?

Sorry about my last comment, forgot to proff read. I said " 2 cell motor", i meant 2 cell battery. Anyways a three cell battery with that stock brushed motor will allow it to have excellent vertical preformance but my question is will the two cell battery do the same? I would upgrade to brushless but from the reviews I have read they all say there is now need to at all.

with the weight side of it a plane of that size you need the smallest of everthing sevos speedy, recever, control rods, the least weight the less damage is it the one that velcros the batt to the side if it is when your just practsing make sure the batt can come of the side easy the batt causes the most damage

I went out and got a thunder Power 3 cell 1320 mah battery just in case. If the 2 cell battery doesnt do what i want it to then i will use the 3 cell. But in the case that it does work i will just return the three cell and have a little extra pocket cash
