Li-Pos
Ok, I have been flying r/c for 30 years now and just bought my first li-po pack. I have a Pro-Peak Prodigy II charger and a 2cell 7.4 volt 3200 mah pack. After reading all the horror stories I need some advice. I have charged these batteries 2 times now at 1/2 c. Neither charge or discharge in my plane have the batteries gotten warm muchless hot to the touch. When charging them why does the amps on my charger go to almost 0 amps after it reaches 8.4 volts. Is this normal for Li-Pos? I know nicads and nimh the amperage drops a little but not almost to zero. Why do Li-pos do this? Is this ok??

RE: Li-Pos
The behavior you describe is normal. The CVCC (constant voltage / constant current) charging regime for lipos is such that current drops to near zero when the charge is complete.
