has anyone any experience of ebay li-po's i.e are they reliable & worth the money

It all depends on what they are and where they are from, they can be a gamble, but they can be great.
Usually they are cheap alternatives from China, but they can be as good as you need them to be, if you are not expecting them to be upto competition performance !
I bought a couple off ebay a couple of months ago, they have had 6 charges each so far and are great, & work fine.

It's a bit like anything else where you get good ones and bad ones, even with the expensive type.
Someone on another forum i go on in the uk told me about 2 he bought off ebay, he said one was good, but the other packed in not long after.

For the price they are, I think its worth the risk, and I would buy again.
As long as you dont over do it with charge/discharge rates near to their limits, you will probably be ok, as cheap lipos aren't supposed to be as tolerant as the more expensive ones, so using them at their limit could be asking for trouble, even though they say they are capable of it.

I would go for a capacity / discharge rating that is higher than you need.
And I also wouldn't buy any that don't have a built in seperate balancing plug to rebalance the individual cells when they eventually need doing.

Thanks for the info,I think your right it probably is worth the risk considering the price of them iv'e just bought an Art-Tech 3 cell
and seems ok so far,by the way this is my first posting on the forum.

Good luck with the cheap ones, if you have any bother then steer clear in future, as I would do if they turned out to be inferior.
But, as they go for peanuts on ebay in comparison to the shop prices, there is plenty of cash to be saved for the same spec battery, so the gamble seems well worth it.

I won't pay £50 for a battery if I can get one for £10 - £20 that will do the job, who would

Is that really a great deal? Here is an 11.1volt 3S 2000 mah for $24.00 right here in the good old US of A.
And thats a REAL 2000mah..not inflated numbers.

The quoted specs look fine, but the lack of a balance connector would be a concern to me.

These are only $24.00 because they are rated at only 8C. I think that you will find the higher the xC the more the cost.
These would not be suitable in high amp applications.

True...but flying evader didn't state th C rating for the cells he purchased off of ebay..if the C rating is higher than the 8c of the commonsense cells, then yes, sounds like a better deal.
