600 size brushed...amps?
Does anyone know how many amps a 600 size motor with a 5x5 prop will draw? I've read anywhere from 17A to 28A. Can I use this motor with a 20A ESC or will I fry it?
Thanks
Thanks

I'm using 8 cell NiMh batteries. If this [link=http://brantuas.com/ezcalc/multiplexcalc.asp]calculator[/link] is correct... It will only pull about 12 amps. I think it'll be fine.

Might be close? It's been a while since I've played around with a brushed motor though.
Do you have a Wattmeter? Those calculators can be close on some things and way off on others, ya know?! Soooo...
What 600 do you have? There are different armature windings that would change the A. draw characteristics.

Well, as it turns out I never got a chance to find out. I had soldered everything into place and was about to try it when the battery falls out of the plane (connected to the esc) and breaks the ESC in half ...Literaly..the actual circut board broke. So I broke down and put a 30A esc in it. Flew it this morning and it worked well. Got about 8 minutes at mostly full throttle. It was Very windy.
