lipo battery smoked

Default lipo battery smoked

hey well today i got a c12 speed control and conected it to my 11.4 lipo or 1 what ever it is and the battery started smoking. now i think the ecs could not take that many volts could that of caused it or was it becuse i had no motor connected to the esc and is the battery still good.

Usually if the battery is too big it will smoke the speedy but only when amperage is being drawn. Was the servos all hooked up?

no i did not even have the recivor contected. is the battery still good.

NO the battery is shot, it had nothing to do with your esc. Have you been using a balance charger? if not thats the cause of the smoke. I would recommend throwing it away A.S.A.P. the battery is probly not done smoking yet, even if you cant see any smoke, the battery will probly burst into flames at any time. get rid of it and start with a new battery.
