Default radio first or plane?

Does it matter if you turn on the radio first or the plane? (Mini Funtana X with e-flite power 10, e-flite 40 amp esc, hitec eclipse 7 radio, 2100 mah 3 cell lipo, 4 s-75 eflite servos)

Always turn on the Radio first. Otherwise, if you turn on the plane first, it could pick up some interference or something and take-off

Yes, I agree. I always turn on my radio first with the gas planes. The reason that I asked is that I burned up two different e-flite speed controls. The first time, I had the radio on, then I turned on the plane, hit the throttle and the esc went up in smoke. The second time was when I plugged in the battery (radio off) the sucker smoked! I almost had a fire!. The hobby shop replaced the first one but not the second one. There is basically nothing that you can screw up when hooking these things up. The third one worked like a charm. (I turned on the plane first)

The transmitter should always be turned on first and off last. When the plane is turned on without a signal from the transmitter, you can have unpredictable results, such as unintended motor start-up.
