Default 2170 mAh LiPo Charging with Triton 2

I have a 4S 2170 mAh LiPo battery that I charge with a Triton 2 charger. The charger mAh settings jump at 50 mAh increments, so I have to choose whether to charge to 2150 mAh, or 2200 mAh. I prefer not to start a flight with a partially discharged battery, but I'm concerned about damaging the battery or worse if I charge it at 2200. Any advice?

Either one will work fine and not damage. The capacity sets the rate on the T-2 (bad idea in my opinion) so if your not in a hurry you can go lower (not sure where it capacity max's out) or use the higher if in a hurry.

Kirk -

Most lipo manufacturers recommend a maximum charge rate of 1C, which for a 2170 mAh pack is 2170 mA. However, you can charge at any rate lower than 1C and still get a full charge. You can charge the 2170 mA pack at 1000 mA or 1500 mA or 750 mA or 1800 mA -- pretty much any rate you want, as long as it is lower than 2170 mA.

The lower the charge rate, the longer the charge will take, but you will still get a full charge. Many of us routinely charge lipos at less than the maximum rate because there have been claims that this can prolong the lifetime of the pack.
