I have the same Park 480 with a 3S 2100 in a GP Extra
I am getting a good 10 minutes with 50 % to wide open throttle with my 3S 2100 pack with an 11X7 Apc prop.
It weighs 27 oz. and flys very nice.
Weight make a difference . With a 3000 you will gain flight time but loose noticable performance.

On my Eflite Extra I got 10-12 minutes on the recommended setup with a 2170mAh pack. The 2100 pack is the best pack for this plane. It will give you good flight times and plenty of punch for unlimited vertical.

The 3000 pack will be a considerable weight for that plane to carry around and I would just stick with the 2100 pack and never use the 3000. The 2100 will give you lots of flight time and it keeps the plane flying well. I think the extra oz. will affect the flying characteristics so much that you would not enjoy it. Try it and see if you would like, but I'd just stick the 2100's. If you do decide to try the 3000, let us know how it flies.
