Default What do I use for Rx battery?

I have been a glow guy for ever and I am interested in trying the electric Pluma by Great Planes. My question is, what do I use for a rx battery? I want to buy the combo pack tower offers (airplane, motor and esc). I currently use the futaba 2.4 gig 617 FAST rx. Do I use the heavy 4.8v pack (almost 5oz) to power my servos or is there something lighter I can use, or are the servos powered through the lipo battery that powers the motor? Thanks for any advice!

rathmn,

The entire electrical system is powered off the lipo. The BEC in the ESC is a Battery Eliminator Circuit. It's designed to allow just such a setup. The BEC basically reduces the voltage from the lipo down to a level the rx/servos can use.

The Combo-ESC delivers 1 - 1,5A 5V for servoes and RX.
