Default Dumb Dumb DUMB thing I did...

After almost no sleep, I got up early to fly b4 the heat got too bad.
I Flew then charged a 5s 5300 battery.
I then flew TRIED to charge a 3s 2100 battery.

Plugged the 3s into my Common Sense (how ironic here) Octopus harness while the 5s was STILL ATTACHED to another lead on the same harness.

Uh Oh.

Based on the amps I later put back into the 5s and the time that both batteries were on the charger, I estimate that I was inadvertently charging the 3s at 70+C !!

Just in case you've ever wondered.......... 70+C does NOT work.

SMOKED the smaller batt inside 15 seconds, and If I hadn't pulled it off immediately, there would no doubt have been a fire...... (gee, ya think?)

DOH !!

Just had to add some ironi anyway; the charger should be named "No Sense"...
I use chargers which always check numbers of cells, and then ask me to once again confirm cellnumber after initial check. I don`t rely on my brain alone

Glad you didn`t have a fire!

You misunderstood,

The charger was not at fault, it was all ME. Heck, the charger was not even powered up at the time!

the prob was that I had two batteries hooked up to different leads of the same octopus harness, at the SAME time.

Fully charged 5s + dead 3s = fire. [X(]
