Charging a NiMH battery
I hope someone might be able to enlighten me on charging a NiMH battery with a Hyperion charger in case I do something wrong and destroy the battery, charger or burn my house down.
The battery is an Electrify 8 cell 9.6V 2/3AAA 350mAh. Written on the battery it says "Charge for 10-12 hours at 40mA. Trickle charge at 10mA".
It would appear my Hyperion charger can only be adjusted down to 0.1A (or 100mA) charge rate. If I charge at 100mA will I damage the battery or charger?
Additionally, if I were to get a Lipo battery instead what would be the equivalent. It is to power a 180 size brushed motor in a Great Planes Mini SLinger so weight is an issue. Would a 2 cell suffice or would I have to go for a 3 cell lipo?
Cheers
David

RE: Charging a NiMH battery
100 ma should be ok, charge until peak (until full)
3S usually compares to 9 cells, that's what I'd use if the motor/esc and such can take a touch more voltage. This will allow lighter pack OR more capacity OR a bit of both.
