Opening up LiPo packs ?
I have two 2 cell LiPo Packs, and I want to sacrifice one, open it up, and remove a cell to splice into the remaining one, and make it a 3 cell pack. Any problem in doing this ?

bigger pain in the butt than its worth IMO. Taking the heatshrink off, and the tape on the ends, then the cells are stuck together. Now you have to connect the extra cell, and change the balance plug. OR spend $40 on a new batt (assuming not a huge 2s)

" If capacities of the cells are nearly identical then there's no problem with it. "
" Remember most Lipo tabs are aluminum so you will need aluminum solder. "
Well this is sounding better. Yes, the capacities would be identical.
So what's the key to soldering aluminum ? Solder ? Flux ? Heat ? What ?

No on is it a different compound of solder it is also a different technique. Soldering aluminum if not done quickly can cause the metal to overheat and cause stress cracks and brittleness.
Heres some solder that will work and a page that talks about how to solder aluminum

Often you are going to find the cells are stuck to each other with a super double sided tape. You do not want to try twisting or prying between the cells to get em apart.
I've had a lot of luck using gelled CA remover on it. It tends to soften up the tape enough to get the cells apart without damaging them.
