Blade CX2
For those that haven't heard, E-flite is coming out with a Blade CX2 which should be out before Christmas. The new Blade CX2 looks like it's going to be about the same as the CX but it's going to come with a 5 channel Spektrum Radio (made by E-Flite) and appears to have a different charger (this one can do 2-3s batteries).
Street price is going to be around $189.99 so I am guessing the CX will come down some.

Does anyone know for sure if the CX2 will work with the DX6 TX?
If so I could just replace my 4in1 on my cx with the 4in 1 from the CX2 and only have to have 1 TX.

I expect it will work with an upcoming Spektrum release. More info should be available soon.

No, it will not. It uses the new DSM2 protocal.

I'm curious as to why you would think the price of the CX would come down. This appears to be a direct replacement for the CX. If that's the case, I can't imagine why the original CX would even remain in the product line once the duece is released/available.

They are still making the Blade CP even though the Blade CP Pro is out so I just assumed they will do the same with the CX2. Then again, maybe not since they are pricing it the same as the CX. I may email our sales rep monday and see what they say.

I would still be inclined to believe that the CX2 is more of a direct replacement for the CX whereas the Pro is more of an advanced version of the CP which therefore retains the CP's place in the marketplace. That was my logic for what it's worth.
I have a CP and a Pro. I'll probably end up with a CX2 to go with my CX before it's all over too but I can't imagine needing one like I justified buying the Pro to go with the CP (if that makes sense).
It'll be interesting to see what they do.

RE: Blade CX2
Well, I just joined this forum - and just bought my first real heli - an E-Flite CX - just to find out a week later - for the SAME EXACT price - I could of bought the CX2 - which I guess has better tail control.
Who knows - maybe they did something for the 4-in-1 module also.. I guess (from what I've read) its easy to burn the MOSFET chip right off in the original CX's 4-in-1 board if you crash and there is still throttle applied - even for only the tiniest duration I think.
BTW - you can try to fuse your motors - internet chat I've read around suggests that 3 amps is to little but 4 amps may be just right - to avoid blowing out the $50+ 4-in-1 unit. Thats what I did to my CX, I'll write about is in a more approriate forum though

Practice chopping the power as SOON as you see the plane is in trouble!
That will keep the overload on the motors to a minimum.
A lot of electric plane flying will make this an instintive motion.
And don't forget to pull back on the motor trim ASAP.

RE: Blade CX2
the cx contrarotating design is the most stable design there is. very easy to hover etc. but still fun to fly and relaxing for expierenced pilots. the bodys are interchangable between both versions.
