Default RE: NEW EVOLUTION CORE, FLYRCRIVESUD

I just turned my CX3 into a full blown "Sonny Bird" last week. I installed both the Extreme Core and the Racing Conversion. I am really please with the results. This is totally different bird. All of the handling problems I had with the stock CX3 just disappered, "POOF". This evening I even managed to squeeze all four navigation lights into the racing canopy. After drilling the holes, it was a LOT easier than it was on the CX3 body. I love having the battery connector at the rear of the heli just like my MCX. It makes the connection a lot easier. I expect to get Sonny's motors this week. I am sure they will work well.

One thing I did find odd. I used a kitchen scale to weigh the heli after installing both the Extreme Core and Racing Conversion. I found that my heli with the battery installed weighs exactly eight ounces. That is what the stock CX3 weighs. I am using the metal stabilizer bar rather than the carbon one but the difference in weight between the two is minimal. I wonder if the weight loss mentioned in the flyer refers to the CX2?

I love my Sonny Bird!

ORIGINAL: Ramessinger

Also...be careful flying outside. The CX3 has a habit of dropping like a brick when making a maximum stick banked turn. But, you should have no problems if you make smooth rounded turns. Also, in any kind of wind...keep it low to the ground because the wind will take it for a ride.
So I'm not the only one who has noticed this. Like you, I also fly a fully converted CX3. I now call mine a "Sonny Bird". What I found helps a bit is to back off the stick just a bit as it comes out of the turn and add throttle to keep the altitude. I am flying mine outside every day now. I normally knock off about four battery packs. For me the trick is to do it in the early morning while the air is very still. On bad air days, its off to the gym.

I received my kit today from Sonat / www.flyrcrivesud.com . The box was well secured, labeled, and marked in numerous locations with Red FRAGILE tape and the word 'FRAGILE' stamped in several places. Unfortunately the local postman can't read French (or English ?), and the box came crushed, folded, mutilated, stapled and spindled. Fortunately the box was so well oversized, all parts were recieved in mint condition. I received the new and improved landing skids, lengthened inner and outer shafts, new dual rotor gears times two, battery holder, and Sonat's famous and my BONUS www.flyrcrivesud indestructable helipad which was quite the pleasant surprise. Obviously Sonat has never heard the American saying, "There is no such thing as a free lunch"? Thanks Sonat. The parts look clean, free of defect, and have a very sturdy appearance. I look forward to what should be a simple and straight forward assembly over the weekend, and certainly look forward to reduced blade strikes and clacking during sharp turns and rapid altitude changes. Thanks again.

Just got my package and it had alot of goodies in it .The inner and outer shafts, battery holder, skids, and a neat heli pad. The workmanship on all the parts are first rate. All parts go together as stock no problems at all. Because the outer shaft is so long, the only different thing is the lower bolts in the lower head go thru the holes in the shaft instead of the upper holes as in stock..Got it all changed over in no time and took to the air. No trimming from the setup I replaced. I went out side in good winds and threw it around. I don't think you can hit the blades together if you wanted to.Great product I will be getting more sets for my other birds in the pics. The battery box is the bomb. The pic with the pen in it is showing the piece that puts pressure on the battery so no problem in getting the cg right. Here's some pics. Great product.... thanks sonat

Here is a video trying to get a blade strike. The cx3 is on the dx7 with 150% servo travel. The servo arm is using the 2nd hole.

He He He JC500. The early, or old bird, gets to the mailbox (and recliner) first. Ha. :-) Did you get the free helipad too? I just love when customer service (even though these were unsolicited AND free) is voluntarily, and unexpectedly, OUTSTANDING! I will let you do the MOD and post first so you have to do all the work and talk us oldies but newbies through it. Have fun, and get things posted by the weekend so I can cheat on the assembly. I know it is simple, but I can cause extreme damage with just a nano screwdriver, a full sized cottonball, and daylight. Thanks to Sonat, www.flyrcrivesud.com , and you, for saving the micro CX world!

Fly Hard, Fly High, Fly Long, and Fly Precise!!! (and then wake up from your daydream???)

Im game for trying this. I have an upgraded set I got from another vendor/MFG (www.flyrcrivesud.com), and was not impressed. I swithed the CX back to STOCK.

LMK if I can get one.
I tend to do nice write ups with pics and discuss the details quite well in my threads

PM sent.
