RE: Mainshafts
ive bought some and havent had a problem, they fit in the bearings, main gear and head just like they always have, i did notice that the original main shaft that came with my 400 was hollow, all of the replacement ones that i have gotten have been solid

RE: Mainshafts
well i never really paid attention, i just installed them and went.
but today after about 6 bent shafts i looked closer, my headblock is loose on the shaft and theres play in between the shaft and the bearings.
so i believe this is why the shafts have been bending.
i going to get another headblock tomorrow and another set of shaft`s, i`ll let you know what i find.

RE: Mainshafts
well i changed out the hub, it seems to have been the problem. it was over a year old so i guess i got my monies worth.
now at alittle over half throttle i get a horrific noise and vibration, man this heli`s starting to p__s me off. now i`ll get some more bearings and see if that is the problem.
i`ll change the tail case and mainshaft bearings again, i cant tell where its comeing from. it almost sounds like a bent tailshaft but the shaft is perfect.

RE: Mainshafts
To Bad blade 400 or anyone else who is experienced with the Blade 400 and the Spectrum 6i TX.
I now own two of these beasts. Both bought used.I have flown one for a few short fligths and am learning to hover. I did the CX2 bit successfully and can hove in SIM very well.
Unfortunately I only have one TX and it lost the battries and so all the previous owners settings. Could somebody please suggest basci( learning type) settings for the Spectrum 6i TX and blade 400.
Many thanks,
Peter

ive changed my batteries hundred`s of times and have never had the settings change, if they have chaged then you have a bad radio or you have change models some how.

RE: Mainshafts
Bad,
Thanks for the response. I appreciate that the TX typically have some flash memory and thus should not lose settings. However, for what ever reasons thsi oen did. Maybe from my own actions, quiet possible.
Bottom line, could you please provide a good pitch curve/throttle curve for a beginner.
Idon't have the TX manual, but from the Blade manual I did reset my swatch plate mix per their recomendations.
Also the plate rfrom the 90 degree to the 120 CCMP.
Thanks in advance for your help.

RE: Mainshafts
The stock curves in the Blade 400 manual you have are a good place to start.
IMO the stock Normal Throttle Curve is a little low but not horrible.
Pitch should always be linear from half to full stick with 50% at half stick.
The stock curves do that:
Normal Throttle 0-25-50-75-100, I like 0-60-80-90-100 better.
Normal Pitch 35-42.5-50-75-100
Stunt Throttle 100-92.5-85-92.5-100
Stunt Pitch 0-25-50-75-100
...All in the manual.
Start there then raise the Normal T curve when you get more comfortable.
Again, IMO, it's a bad idea for beginners to lower the headspeed.
That makes the heli feel mushy and unresponsive, and it reduces tail authority.
These things actually make the heli harder to fly.
Keep the headspeed high and if you need to make the stick response more beginner friendly then add Expo to AIL and ELE channels, about 30% to start, maybe 10-20% on RUDD.
Maybe lower the cyclic Swash Mix values (AIL & ELE) but I'm not a fan of that either.
Learn to fly with most of the settings you'll be flying with down the road.
That eliminates the need to unlearn things later.
Bad habits die hard, you know.
JMHO
YMMV
