Zippy 2200mah for $13.99
I just got an email from HobbyKing advertising ZIPPY Flightmax 2200mAh 3S1P 20C for $13.99
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=6306
I ordered 2 of the following last month but were $25.13
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=7228
Aren't these the exact same battery? The only difference that I see is the more expensive one is from the US distributor....

Same battery I believe. I purchased the Turnigy 2200 equivalent because it was cheaper a few weeks ago. Now, this Zippy battery is $1 cheaper. Difference in price from USA could be related to shipping costs from USA rather than China. I'm from Canada, so much more expensive for me to detour via USA unfortunately.

Gee even cheaper than the same batteries I ordered from them 3 weeks ago.
But then, I ordered them 3 weeks ago, they immediately charged my credit card- and nothing has arrived, even though it was supposed to be delivered "air mail". I paid extra for that!!!
Buyer beware hobbyking.com may be a scam!!!!! 'cause I sure haven't received anything except a Visa bill.

Hobbyking is not a scam. I have made over 12 purchases from them all being close to or well over 100 bucks.
I paid extra and got the 30C packs. They give WAY more punch and don't weigh much more than my 25C packs. They actually balance my heli even more.

I have placed about 10 orders from Hobby King in the last 6 months, and have received all of my orders within 8 - 14 days. Some large boxes (one just this week). I have no problems with their service, but had to learn about saving shipping by ordering by weight. Cheaper to order 2 x 250gr than 1 x 500gr for example. Sometimes, a box is added in the weight for special items like batteries or bulk items, and that's understandable. I always look at the discussions and reviews for each product before buying.
I just placed an order last night for a replacement motor for a GWS e-Starter. Bought 4 x HK450 kits. I am flying one, will build another one and have the others around for spare (at $29.97 each). Might build another to practice 3D. I always have one to fly, and one on the bench or ready to fly :-)

I am simply saying, give the vendors a little break. The HONEST ones are doing the best they can to handle the demand. Plain and simple, I (and I am sure many other vendors) have been scammed by buyers and we simply have to make sure the card is good and the money is there before we can build/ship anything out.
Just my $0.02!

I have also had great experiences with Hobbyking/Hobbycity as well...
You have to read the shipping info/charges carefully though, as has been mentioned, the weight is critcal to the charges being applied....
Also, and important to read the shipping methods...if you want your stuff fast (in 3-4 days in my case, on 3 different orders) you have to specify and pay for the "EMS" shipping....it costs about twice as much as "air mail", but is amazing how fast it gets here from Hong Kong!
Good luck,
Glenn

+1 on Glenns comments . I am up to my 8th order from HK and the last one was for over $670! Got to me here in Oz in two days - yes that's right 2 days! I reckon they are excellent - it's a shame the range of stuff they do isn't more extensive. My LHS sells 2200mAh Outrage batteries (probably 25C) for $70.... why would I buy them! I support the LHS's as much as i can and when I have to I guess.
Hobby King is not a scam. I don't see the logic in charging your card when you receive the item rather than when ordering - i don't know of any online seller that would do that at all.
here's my latest EMS advice from HK:
Posting Date Posting Time Drop-off Point
30-Oct-2009 21:09 Pick Up Service
Date # Location Delivery Status
30-Oct-2009 Hong Kong Item posted and is being processed.
30-Oct-2009 Hong Kong Processed for departure.
31-Oct-2009 Hong Kong The item left Hong Kong for its destination on 31-Oct-2009
1-Nov-2009 Australia Arrived and is being processed.
1-Nov-2009 Australia Pending customs inspection.
1-Nov-2009 Australia In transit.
Cost me $6 extra for EMS over registered

My 2cents? I have 20 orders from HobbyKing and no glitches yet. Some very great deals there, just watch the weight and do the math like mentioned in the other posts.
One note to 450 Heli flyers. Ehirobo's CopterX 450AE V2 heli for $59.99 is a great quality machine!! I got two of them. Matched with some HK electronics it is a deal. Great flying machine too! I grabbed some of Ehirobo's 325mm Carbon Hobby blades and was pleased with them.
