RE: Struggling with single rotor basics V2
Scott - that is the HobbyKing clone of the ALign Pro V2 FBL TT except for 3 parts. The ebar can't be mounted on it's side. I need to put the boom bracket back on to see if it will fit there. I believe it will if I modify the frame a bit. WOW, I thought Horizon parts were expensive! Yikes, the Align parts are pretty steep & everybody has the same price. What fun is that. LOL
I am currently gently disassembling the 1st frame which I pretty much have to do to get the servos in any way. I WILL REMEBER to put thread lock on the screws when I rebuild. I first have to decide how to elongate the holes in the cyclic servo tabs then I can check the tail & head assemblies. The TT is pretty cool tech with all those beveled gears. Lotsa' parts to strip & break!!!

Chuck, the bottom bearing holder / servo mount should be able to slide up and down in the frame to accommodate different servo dimensions.

Ivan,
I called AMA today... they didn't have my name on their list. So... I got it on the list and paid for Site 3. I asked the lady about you. You are on the list, so Ireminded her to call you. I hope you don't mind. The way they're handling this seems rather haphazzard.

Ivan,
I got your back, bro! Well, at least figuratively! Seriously, you're welcome.
It's gonna be off the hook! This weekend, I'm getting a Blue Ox TruCenter installed on my motorhome, then the first weekend in May, we're going to a local campground where Igot full hookup (sewer, water, electric) to give the motor home a good going through (including sanitizing the water system, etc.). You know, I'm actually looking forward to the most disgusting part of RV'ing... dumping the gray and black water tanks. Iguess I'm odd.
May's gonna be busy. After the camping/shake down trip, two weeks later, we're going to the fun fly in Cincy in the moho, then to the Mid America fun flycamping on the runway! This is gonna be a great summer!!!
Can't wait to see you roll up in Muncie, bro!

Got mine, too. I hope you get to bring the moho. It is gonna be awesome!
Tomorrow, we're taking the moho in to get a BlueOx TruCenter installed, tires checked, and an oil change. Then the first weekend in May we're going to take it to a local campground tor the weekend to make all our first-timer mistakes there instead of hundreds of miles away.
Here's a picture of the LED TV conversion that I did...

Ivan - close yet?
Scott - nice motel on wheels! Of course, that's over the windshield so you watch TV while driving, right!?!?!?!?!
Just got back from TN house hunting again, went out east this time.
My neighborhood was literally under water from the storms early this week. It was one of the few times my area did not lose electricity so my basement stayed dry. One of my neighbors checked a couple of times to make sure the pumps were keeping up with the water. High ground & a natural gas whole house generator next house!

Motel on wheels? Yep. Tires... Ineed to replace all the tires on the motorhomethey have really small wall cracks from age and weather, so it's unsafe to operate for extended times. That's about $3000.00. Oh, well... that gets done next week. At least then, it will be taken care of and I won't have to worry about that for another seven years. It hurts the wallet, though.

RE: Struggling with single rotor basics V2
The flooding did not affect me at all. As usual, the water around the shop got deep in areas but we never flood.
I got a Fat Shark Predator V2 FPV system for the quad so we can set shots up. I think our first real trial of the quad copter will be in the beginning of May. We are renting a 2 mile long runway in Michigan to do some testing with several of our cars.

Dave - go fly!
Dave - go fly!
Sounds like you making good progress on the heli flying. I try to get in some time on Phoenix when I can. Haven't been outside in a long while.
And you'll be able to make even more when every day is Saturday!
phD-
Sorry to hear about your Dad, but it's better that he didn't linger too much.
Ivan-
Congrats on finally getting keys in hand!
Sweet Ride, you need to add a TV like Scott did!
Nice quad! DJI is nice, but if you ever want to upgrade, look into Mikrokopter or Arducopter.
Scott-
Sweet Ride...
I'm baaaaack-ish!
Finished off ground school a couple of weeks ago (98%, and 96% on the 2 finals). Now I just have to review and take the official FAA test. And then get someone to pay for my flight lessons!
After spending all that time on ground school, I now have to switch gears and continue work on RoboSub.
I'll have to squeeze in some time to fly.
