Nice pic! I'll have to look into some lights one day.

I got into FPV finally. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRK60cz4Sh4

This is a vid of what I see in the "goggles". Very interesting sensation not being able to see the vehicle! Someday I'll try to fly that way.

Well bout the magnets, that motor is what I learned to fly with...used well not often like the others.. Maybe crashing...it had bout 9 crashes, ESC malfunction.. Motor overheat as it did when I replaced the motor. I had to change the ESC too. She purrs clean again. I was hoping to fly this weekend..maybe the lighted night Cessna. OK....don't see it working out, but everything reversed for now. What supposed to work out, not doing so and what not supposed to, working out lmao. Will let you know.. Hhhmmm fpv. Dem new guys telling me bout flybarless conversion of my Helis lol
Have a great day Sire

Philly - fly away!

Just got back into town after being on "vacation", though I'm not sure how you vacation from retirement! :-)

Can't wait to get flying again. I need to spend more time w/ the helis!

Philly,

Are you surviving all the TS's passing your way? None have made it here yet.

To bad nobody is monitoring this discussion any more. After only 10 years of practice I finally successfully flipped a heli, not once but twice in a row The 3rd one didn't quite make it but no damage. I was flying the mCP X BL. It was more like a small loop than a flip as I have it toned down. I need to perk it a bit to get a crisper flip.

I've been keeping the plank inverted for longer & longer periods (up to 20 seconds or so!) Who knows I may cut the grass with a heli yet.

Sir Chuck
At least we are still here. It is real cool to know you taking your time to do some tricks. No hurry to prove any point to anyone. Since my last flight I have fixed the cessna and cant get out to test it. There are some new guys flying..60% quads, but I dont like the area for planes. 1/3 of the area is over roadway(if your plane crashes chance of a vehicle driving over it and finishing it is 100%), the other 1/3 is over the sea. You know how well electronics love salt water. But I'm Happy we're tstill in touch.
Will let you know how it goes.

I wonder what Ivan's up to? I haven't heard from him in about six months.

Found this quadcopter & it looks ideal for learning FPV flying! I've flown it a couple of times "straight" when the wind dies down, I'll put on the goggles! It has a CC3D controller board. I think Dave was looking at the AutoPilot version of this software.

Oh, my, it's been over a year since I last posted. It has been quite a year for me & RC.
1. I'm group leader for the Stone Creek RC Modelers Interest Group
2. I belong to the Marion County Cloud Climbers
3. have 3 quads from 250 down to micro
4. have 7 airplanes from 9" to 55" wing span
5. have 3 boats (2 speed & 1 sail)
6. Have 6 helis
7. Got 5 guys to fly quads & they all moved to helis!
8. Have 1 car & 1 truck
9. Petitioned the builder for an air field here in the community - we have temporary access to a small area & waiting for a final decision
10. Rebuilt & setup a TRex 500 for a friend & hovered it, then found him a buyer for it (I was sorely tempted to buy it myself!)
11. Am currently working on a TRex 450 Sport V1 setup for another friend - looking for a parts list
12. Flying inside 1 or 2 times a week - mostly FPV quad now
13. Fly 2 or 3 times a week outside, mostly planes
14. Bought, flew & crashed, fixed, flew & crashed again a Pulse .15e. Its now in the land fill!
15 Sold 2 airplanes & I quad

Chuck
