Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā* Whats up guys, havent posted in a while so I thought an update was in order. I am still flying my SR. I have about 30 flights so far( i only have two packs, and a full time job) and all is well, I have yet to crash the new one Horizon sent me about 6 weeks ago. (knock on wood). Im still using the stock transmitter, and I only fly in Idle up mode with the little knob thing on the to left of the trans turned up as high as it can be, and I removed all flybar weights. I HATE THE TAIL MOTOR! It has never given up on me but i just dont like how cheap it feels but I have learned to live with it to the point where I dont really think about it untill someone at the field asks ''Whats that noise, and why does it bounce like that, is it broken?'' All that aside, I have been progressing very nicely. Foreward flight is a breeze, and when moving foreward the tail stops twitching. I can do some nice big loops, some semi tight front and back flips. Also stationary and moving rolls. I have moved past alot of the guys at the field who have nicer gear, and alot more time under there belt, they actually watch me fly now, and ask me questions.
Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā*Ā* So here is the point of my little tale i guess. Do I hate the SR? A little, I think it was marketed very badly I think instead of a good Heli for beginners, it should have been a cheap heli for beginners. But it DOES work I CAN fly it and i have taught myself alot of neat things with it so It did do its job. I have just started a cheap 450 build of my own now (all parts from ebay) and hope that everything I learned on the SR carries over. I have never had to repair my SR, or even change the blades so I am going to need some help there, but thats what you guys are for. I will give Horizon props for that I have as I said earlier flow 30 packs through the SR and the only thing I had to do was set the gyro gain a bit, and a slight tweak of the revo mixing. and as far as maintanence all Ive had to do was tighten the screws that hold the tail boom in place. So thats pretty good I think. Bottom line:Ā* Would I reccomend this Heli to a friend? NO. Is It a good product for 200 bucks? YES. Is it a good learning Helicopter? I cant say It worked well for me but I tried all my trickey stuff on my Novus 125CP first.
Edit: forgot to add that I have been practicing inverted flight (still stock TX) and have been able to get about 5-8 seconds before i have to flip her back over.
