Default Futaba GY520 gyro

I installed the Futaba GY520 gyro on the Blade 400 and love it! I took it out for a quick flight in 10-15 mph winds and it was a bit rough. But darn, it worked hard and did a great job too! I did some hovering and did a couple of quick laps around the park. It is well worth the upgrade and can help others with the setup if you decide to do it.

I've flown that on a 90 nitro, so yes, I'm not surprised you're having success on a Blade 400, it's an awesome, and extremely versitle gyro that accepts a wide range of servos, and weighs next to nothing.

So much nicer when I fly it backwards and it doesn't swing around on me, luv it!

The 520 holds the tail better than a GY401 but I prefer the way a 401 flies. I wish they could get the 520 to fly like the 401.

What do you mean?  Could you be more specific?

The GY520 does an awesome job at holding the tail in one spot. It does this better than the GY401. The GY520 feels odd to me in all other aspects. IMO, it does not piro as nice, rudder inputs result in tail movement that IMO is not as precise as the GY401. I personally prefer the way a heli flies with the GY401. I have 401s on my T600CF, Protos 500, Furion 450, Beam E4 and HK450. I fly a T-Rex 450 Sport and a T-Rex 450 SE V2 with 520s on them.

Interesting to hear, thx for the input.  I almost bought the 401,  but the 520 seem more shiny.  Actually, I kept going back asking more questions, then finally said the heck with it and just bought it.
