Default CP Pro2 tail shaft swap

What's the secret to getting the tail shaft out of the frame? I've tugged pretty hard but I feel like I'm going to break something. Btw, don't try to fly in 30mph gusts when you suck at flying.

I had to replace the whole frame with boom because I couldn't get mine out. The recommended approach is to use a heath gun which will cause the CA glue to fail and should be able to pull the boom from the frame. I used too much heath and had to replace :-)

Nice. And here I was hoping not to have to remove the electronics.

Has anyone ever managed this? I hit it with the industrial heat gun at work and yanked with vice grips. The only thing I managed to do was burn my fingers and crush the carbon rod. ^%$!

How about carefully breaking the boom with wire snips close to the main frame, and using a drill (I read somewhere 13/64 in, but can't confirm), very carefully and slowly drill the left over portion of the boom from the frame.

The trick with the heat gun is to go slowly. I used an iron (for plane covering, not laundry ironing ) and as long as you go slowly and increase the heat in increments it will come loose. The key is getting to that 160* temp (I think that's the temp) that the superglue begins to boil and break its bond. Go slowly and twist after heat application and eventually it will let go. Patience is key!

I only use just enough glue to hold it in place. If you use too much, its not coming out. Mine breaks loose on ocasion if I have a hard landing. I've used the drill method before. It also works.

Going slowly with a 3/16" drill bit worked perfectly. Once I had the drill bit a little over halfway in, the rest just fell out. I'm guessing they just place the glue right by the edge. Now if they'd just get some blade grips in stock and ship my parts order so I can put it back together.
