msr frame

Looks like I broke the carbon fiber rods that hold the canopy. Are the rodspart of the frame?? What's the easy fix? Any suggestions; I'm not tearing the whole thing apart to put in a new frame, or am I?</p>

RE: msr frame

On the MSR you will have to change out the whole frame. Its all plastic.

On the ,120 SR and the CX's, the rods are CF and can be changed out without replacing the frame.

I had to change out my frame recently. Only took me about 1/2 hour.

Thanks. Do you have to take it all apart. Seems like you have to glue some stuff back in place, Can you give me any details. It looks like a pain in the ass...

Ya you pretty much have to take it all apart. Most everything screws on.
The motor may be held in with some sort of silicone.
I was at the Gym this past winter and had to change out the frame.
I did not glue the motor in.
On my sons MSR The motor was not glued in.

The Shaft will be the hardest part to get back together.
You may want to take pictures for reference of where everything goes.

Good Luck
Jim

RE: msr frame

you can superglue the peg back on and reinforce it with a carbon fiber stick glued across. i dod this on mine and it worked fine until the peg broke again in a different place lol.

the frame is not hard to replace.

step 1. remove canopy
2. pop off the 2 ball links on the swash
3. remove 5in1board and reinstall it on new frame
4. remove landing gear
5. remove large gear from shaft and remove the whole head/shaft. blade assembly from heli.
6. remove bearings and put them in new frame.
7.take the motor out and put it on the new frame.
8. remove tail boom and put it on new frame.
9. install the main shaft and rotor assembly onto new frame and put the spur gear on the end and pop the ball links back on the swash.
10. install landing gear and canopy and go fly your heli.
