E-Flite MSR Tx remote question?
 

Looking to purchase a E-Flite MSR from a LHS. I just have a questions. Since E-Flite MSR comes with a decent Tx remote I've noticed a lot of folks like using the DX6i with it. Is there anything I'm missing here? Is the dx6i that much better in terms of controlling and hoovering? Doesn't the stock remote do just as good as a job as a dx6i? What are the pros and cons with and without a dx6i? Thanks!

Most folks who have a number of helicopters use the DX6i or something comparable because it has slotted memory whereby different heli configurations for the same or different copters can be saved.  The advantage is that this allows you to to have a single TX to use to run a number different program configurations for the same chopper OR for storing different chopper models on a single TX device.  Then you don't have to lug around a TX for each and every chopper you own.

The other advantage is that the DX6i is programmable so you can change your configuration around and store the canges. It basically all comes down to being a matter of maximizing convenience.

I've read somewhere that you can program the dx6i to not be as sensitive as the stock msr tx. I've noticed the stock remote that comes with the msr is very sensitive when it comes to the throttle response. When I try adjusting the pitch I can hear the motor either revving up or down. I really think that's probably one of the down fall of this remote.

I use a DX6i because I also have two airplanes with Spektrum receivers. So when I bought the MSR, it made sense to get the BNF version only since I didn't need the MSR's transmitter.
