Default Any Zagi Owners Out There?

I was looking around for an electric plane to just fly around. No 3D, no aerobatic pattern, just fly around.
I see that they are still making Zagies, and was wondering who is flying them, and how the new generation of Zagies fly.
I see that they have 4 electric wing models available now. The ZGO, and ZGI are the ones I would be most interested in. These are aerobatic and get up to 85 MPH.
The HP-60 for camera carrying type of plane.
They also have a HP model with a ply reinforced plastic tray for the motor mount. This plane will accept in runner and out runner motors. I doubt if these motor mounts are as susceptible to damage in a crash as the old speed 400 Zagies, but is something to consider.

Any input on these models would be appreciate.

Default RE: Any Zagi Owners Out There?

I posted this same question in another of the more popular online web sites for RC flying, and got quite a few recommendations for manufactures of EPP foam wings. I ended up buying the Crashtesthobby Roswell. This is a 36" plane that can fly slow and doesn't stall out. These flying characteristics allow this plane to be flown on small fields, without the noise problems that could be encountered with the faster and noisier flying wing type of planes.
Here are the 3 manufactures of EPP foam wing planes that I considered for purchase.

The Roswell is flown on a $12.00 battery ( http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...dProduct=11903 ), and a $6.00 motor ( http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=5423 ). How is that for some fun on the cheap?

By looking into the Crashtesthobby line of planes, I was also introduced to combat flying of these EPP foam wing airplanes. After looking at some of the videos, and reading about some of the events flown along with the combat event, it looks like a blast.

You guys in Utah know how to do it right.
I would like to get an event like this going in Minnesota. Anyone interested, PM me.

Default Zagi reporting in!

Hi good people!
After 2+ years in storage and rekindle hardware and tape covering repairs along with busted sero arm on the Zagi Wing, these two wings (Combat = Red; Zagi = Yellow) flew just amazing! Fast and Loud like they should. Of course Saturday morning was a test flight for the Combat wing which resulted in a spectacular crash seconds after hand lunch. The right Elevon push rod departed the wing so, control was dicey so, I made it crash on purpose for safety. The Combat is a heavy and robust 48- inch wing span wing that was designed for crashes and mid-air Combat so, no issues.

At approximately 2:33pm this afternoon (Monday, November 6th, 2023) I was able to record successfully a nice video of my Zagi Wing that had been in storage for a little over 2 years. After needed repairs and tape covering replacements, it flew delightfully. Check out the Video at:
