Default Good deal or Not!! Superstar EP Damaged

Let me say I have bought quite a few items from Tower Hobbies and 3 Scratch and Dents. I ordered a Scratch and Dent for my cousin to get flying with, I know he will
take to the Addict...... I mean hobby very fast. I have spent almost $2k over the past 2 years at Tower Hobbies and have had great service.

My order just arrived from Tower Hobbies. I rely on their "Professionalism" and "Description of a damaged item" heavily.

Superstar EP - Fuse damage, Horizontal Stabilizer damage, Vertical stabilizer damage ( This was the description)

So I pull the plane out of the box and thing "Holy Blurkin Schmitt" this looks like a little more than shipping damage to a plane.

he Rudder attachment rods are a bit bent - no nuts- not in that bad of shape

3 nice size holes in the wings - 1 will need a bit of sheeting repair

Horizontal Stab almost perfect shape - needs the hing tape replaced

Fuse? Take a look at the photo!

1. Almost half of the motor bay gone.
2. Firewall in 2 pieces
3. motor mount screws gone - trivial
4. Bent Pushrods
5. Damaged wing saddle
6 Servos- Haven't tested

Upon closer inspection a nice impaction of Mother Earth into a few corners of the fuse nose
Tail Skid ground up and with a nice Dirt Color added.

A crashed plane $76 , The look on my face when I saw the damage PRICELESS an inexperienced fly can do!!! HAHA! ( Hmm, I was one of those and My plane looked alot worse )

also added a Gearbox and Mayhem 22 for the rebuild!

Buyer Beware from Tower Hobbies - I will still order from them. But will be more cautious about the "DESCRIPTION" they give

I dont think I did too bad anyways.

Assuming that this is the RTF version ($189 new). I think you got a deal. The damage looks to be easily repairable in the pics.

The Fuse Repair is under way and almost done.

I will post a few pics of the process as I complete it.

You'll get to see that an all wood plane is really not that hard to "Repair".

It was the RTF package, It was flown and crashed and re-sold through Tower Hobbies scratch and dent.
The few items that I have bought Scratch and Dent have been minor shipping damage and sold as (New/Moderate damage)
This plane said (New / Severe damage) obviously it was (USED/ Crashed Damage)

The day I bought it there were 4 of these and 3 Nexstars all gone within 2 hours.

I don't remember the brand of plane, but they say " If you don't learn to fly or crash it we will replace it for 30 days".
Tower Hobbies might have the same kind of deal?
