Ah i see, that's a nice plane, i see u have profiled the rudder to improve her lines, would you mind listing all the mods that you did that'd be hugely appreciated, she looks like a goer alright ....i even replaced the elevator pushrods with 1mm carbon but i didn't get near the 12 oz u quote!

RE: Mini Laser 3D Pictures.
No real mods. I built everything with the stock lines. I did cut off the gear which will save you some weight. Battery weighs in at 4.5 oz for the 2100 LiPo. Used an HeCell 1100 originally that weighed in at 7 oz. The hacker will save you a little weight. I used the dubro micro pull pull cable instead of the worthless fishline cable.
I lost it in a gust of wind and am currently in covering mode with a new one. I will weigh it to make sure cause the 12 oz may be wrong.
No matter what though, it had some real go and was more than enough here at 4500 ft to have some fun for 20+ minutes.

Turns out that all up weight is 15.4 oz on my new one. I weighed the airframe minus battery and got 12 oz. Sorry for the confusion. Still though, not bad for a built up airplane.

Are we talking the same kit. This bird has very concise instructions and plans that detail the exact location. Considering that this model has been discontined, I am curious which model you guys are referring to.

the Mini Laser 3D, ther is nothing detailing the position of the wingbolt hole through the wing on mine! Sure the instructions are ok but they lack on this point, all it says on the subject is "put nut in J1 (wing bolt former in fuselage"

Ok, I remember now, you're right. First off, the bolt is way to long. So cut it down to a more appropriate size. Then you can thread it through the backside of the nut in J1 and leave enough of the bolt sticking down that when you seat the wing in the saddle it will make an indentation in the trailing egde on the top of the wing. Then you have the spot marked from the intdenttaion where you need to drill.
Hope that helps

You the man!!!!!
Many thanks!
But that means to get to the wing bolt, the belly pan would have to be removed every time [:-]

RE: Mini Laser 3D Pictures.
This is the fuel version, so a belly pan is much needed,
Anyhow thanks to your advice, the bolt is fine now
I figured out that it is possible to keep the bellypan on and still have the bolt go through, just need to drill a simular hole in the belly pan and voila!

RE: Mini Laser 3D Pictures.
A question, the person I am building for wants me to fit SD200's in the fuselage, ive needed to cut away ALOT of wood and they still are too tight, they weigh 18 grams and are a pain in the rectum to fit.
Is it really necaserry? Should I expect CoG problems with having an OS 15 LA (135 grams) up front?

RE: Mini Laser 3D Pictures.
I have a Mini Laser 3D I just started to build. I have had it in the original box for about 3-4 years. I have no landing gear, no plans (except for the picture plan, Wing (one picture on sheet) and the Fusalage, two pictures, top down and side view no parts or write up on building? Are these the only plans that come with the kit and if so is there a place that I can get better plans where I can see the parts and where they belong. Everything is superimposed on the other with no words or print as to what goes where!
