whats cheap??

http://www.lensrc.com/ has inexpensive CDrom based motors

other than that for the big name motors, prices are going to be pretty close whereever you go....

This is a troll, right?

He's chosen THE most expensive components, and asked for "cheap", without a single specific.

Why did I bother to respond... rats. The troll worked.

Or he could want good performance stuff, without understnading that it ain't cheap.....

I didn't know that brushless and LiPo were so expensive until I started my research....

Could be a troll.....

might not...

We shall see!

Jason,

You have to be more specific. Pricing on brushless and LiPoly technology is coming down, but it's hardly "cheap" in the grand scheme of things. They're still the most expensive technologies.

What size are we talking about here? The tiniest parkflyer stuff is the lowest priced, but it's still orders of magnitude more expensive than older, less powerful, less efficient brushed motor and roundcell solutions. It is, however, not so expensive as to be out of reach of the average flier.

what is a troll? He is looking for a Himax 2015-5300 with the aluminum gearbox and a 3 cell 1200-1400 lipo with a high discharge rate.

Most on line vendors are going to be very close in price. If you are willing to explore other options look at balsapr.com and aeromicro.com both sites and well as AlleRC have a good reputation. I have never ordered from AlleRC but I have placed many orders with Balsapr and Aeromicro and their customer service is great.

Balsapr carries the Feigao line of brushless motor and they are considerable less expensive then the Himax motors. I own three of the Feigao brushless motors, that I purchased from balsapr and they have performed fantastic with no problems. Balsa offers combo deals that have a feigao brushless motor and a Castle Creations ESC at a very good price.

justgofly.com sells MTM motor. for 50 dollars you can get a 3000kv 46g 20A motor. That's very good power for the weight and price. Just for comparison, you'll need Himax 2025/5300 to get that kind of amp draw.
