Phasor 30/3....what plane should I put it in???
Hey guys....I just found a Phasor 30/3 VERY cheap and I went for it. It came in today and it is a lot larger than what I expected. I nkow I need a 40 amp ESC for it and I guess I would need 3 cell 3000 milliamp but my ultimate question is and I am embarrased to ask it is: What do I put a Phasor 30/3 in? I would like to put it in a Cub or a Tiger Moth....but what size plane? Five foot? six foot? I would rather have a Cub. Any ideas guys?

What kind of performance are you hoping to get? Scale flying for a Cub? Or unlimited vertical?
In my experience with the 30/3, 3S lipos and a 10X7 prop draws about 32 amps. I've used it in a Dymond Raven (halfway between a glider and a hotliner, about 60" wingspan and 3.75 pounds) and a Modeltech .25 Extra (about 40" wingspan and 3.25 pounds). Both flew at a very nice speed, and vertical was good but limited.
I imagine you could go 4 or 5 pounds with a Cub and get good scale performance, as Joo mentioned (2 kg). Hopefully others who have tried this will chime in. Best of luck!

What I am looking for is a ten to fifteen minute flite with some rolls and loops, not looking for vertical. Just easy flopping around in the sky fun. For now, it is just a plan in the future. I have a lot of stuff to get rid of first before I can generate the $$ for a 40 amp ESC and another plane. I understand the The World Model's 40 size Cub is very light. I also like the looks of the Ford Flivver from Dymond RC. That looks so cool to me!!!!
