The thunder power 3 cell 2100 fits the best and the plane balances perfectly. I've also tried the Apogee 3 cell 2150 and that also did a great job. I'd stay away from the 3 cell 1900 I've heard that you need to add some lead up in the nose to get the plane to balance.

Hello, I just flew mine this morning with a Max Amps 3s 1500mah, I had no balance issues and I got an easy 20 minutes of flight and the battery was not even warm. I am using the E flite 450 outrunner and the E flite 20 amp speed control. What a great flying airplane. I also have a couple of Max Amps 3s 2100mah packs, however I do not see the need unless you are using a bigger motor or want to fly for a half an hour or so. Gene.

I fly mine with a maxamps 2100 mah li-po and fly it for about 30-35 min at full power with the 450 outrunner set up and a 40 amp speed control.

i strapped a 12 volt motorcycle battery under the plane it added 2 1/5 pounds to the all up weight, it barely gets of the ground, but after a 200 foot paved runway it WILL lift off! and i get over an hour of flight time! i havent been able to get it higher than the tree tops yet though, maybe i will add another pusher motor in the back to see if that helps.

Did you use an yuasa or exide motorcycle battery? I'm a beginner on a real tight budget and need a cheap battery for mine. I was thinking of using the pack from my 14.4v DeWalt. Do you think that would work o.k.? Also, what motor would you use for the pusher setup? Would you parallel it from the main esc or just connect it directly to the battery?

Thanks

actually i was going to take the motor from my cordless drill, and duct tape it to the top of the rudder, then wire it directly to the battery so i dint need another esc! lmao

hey you gave me another idea, leave your 14v dewalt battery connected to your drill, and mount the drill on the front of the plane, in place of the motor, with a drill bit installed, then glue a prop to the drill bit, tape the on off button closed with some masking tape and let er rip!

Or I could hot glue a servo to the drill so it operates the trigger and slave it to my elevator channel. Voila! Instant esc...

I have a E-flite 480 motor, 40ampesc, and 12x6 prop. All of the 1200mah lipos seem to be on backorder, so would the 1900 3-cell 11.1V lipo be an ok alternative?
