Default Aerobatic Plane for AXI 2820/12

I have the motor and 40A controller from a departed sailplane. I would like to put this in a precision aerobatic style plane, Sukhoi, Extra, etc. Biggest battery on hand is a 3S1P 2100 mah 20C Lipo. I'm willing to try 123s as an alternative.

I get real confused trying to compare this motor with E-Flight Power 25 & 32 trying to size it to a plane. Hobby Lobby touts the AXI as a .40 size glow replacement; however, it is lighter than the E-Flite Power 25 while handling more amps.

Some specifications: AXI 2820/12 - 990 kV, 5.30 ozs., 37A for 60 sec.
E-Flite Power 25 - 870 kV, 6.7 ozs, 32 A
E-Flite Power 32 - 770 kV, 7.0 ozs, 42A

Looks to me like the AXI would be a strong .25 in this comparison. Any suggestions for an airframe?

Thanks,

John C

OK, would the E-Flight Diamante 25 be a candidate for the AXI above? I found it on the inside cover of MA, but no reviews yet in RCU [].

The AXI is a very flexible motor! Run on 3S and you have a .25 equivalent. And supply it from 5S LiPo and it delivers above 600 Watt! It even handles higher voltage than you think of

If you would llike to build a plane I would recommend a Stevens Aeromodel Cap 232 .40! Look at it: http://www.mft.nu/es/product/product...1622&visible=2
The MPX Acromaster is also a plane which this motor suits well. OK, it is Elapor, and no precision acro...

Thanks, Joo. I wasn't aware of the Stevens line of kits. I found their US web site as I don't read Norge . And my Danish is long gone . When kit season comes back around I'll consider a build. I hadn't thought about higher voltages with the AXI, so that's some good input.

Regards,

John C
